Hello.

I’m Martin J Gilbert, and welcome to my brain.

I am a writer – part-time, obviously, but enthusiastic! – even though I only really began to take it seriously when I truly ran out of time to do anything: following the birth of my first child. And obviously, with two children now, I’m working twice as hard at everything, including writing.

I mean, how could I tell my children to pursue their dreams if I weren’t willing to do it myself?

I live in north Dublin with my wife, two wonderful children and two slightly bonkers dogs.

Over the past few years, I’ve been involved, along with a bunch of exceptionally-talented writers, in producing three fantastic anthologies of short stories based loosely around reinterpreting and reimagining old fairy tales, myths and legends.

The first book is called “A Seeming Glass” and is available in paperback and on Kindle from Amazon; the second is called “Something Rich and Strange” and is available here on Kindle and here in paperback. The third, “Stalking Leviathan” is available here on Kindle, and in paperback too!

I’ve also been featured in the “Hell’s Empire” anthology which, telling as it does a tale of the incursion of a demonic army hellbent on the destruction of humanity, feels very apt for our present times. Available here, in paperback and on Kindle.
